1926 – 2009 Joseph Herbert Emerson, 83, Savannah, Missouri passed from this life on Friday, October 9, 2009 at Heartland Hospital. He was born September 30, 1926 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Henry and Ruth (Hagen) Emerson. Joseph served in the Air Corp as a tailgunner. He worked in building construction. Joseph married Barbara McDonald on December 15, 1972 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He attended the Open Door Ministry at Bolckow, Missouri. Survivors: his wife, Barbara Emerson, of the home; stepson, Arthur Lonjers, St. Joseph; 3 stepdaughters, Janie McGeorge, and Dianna Emery, both of St. Joseph, and Janet Cooper, Clinton, North Carolina; 3 brothers, John Emerson, Louisville, Kentucky, Winston Emerson, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Albert Emerson, Kentucky; 1 sister, Ruth Brant, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Emerson will be cremated and there is no visitation or service scheduled. Arrangements entrusted to Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph. | ||
