At Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home we believe that consumers have the right to know about the laws regarding funeral homes.

Among the numerous federal and state requirements that apply, funeral providers, pursuant to the Federal Trade Commission Funeral Rule- 16CFR Part 43 must provide:

A General Price List which may be retained by the consumer, that describes the services, facilities, transportation, alternative services, and price ranges for caskets and outer burial containers. Funeral providers are not required to mail general price lists to consumers, but at Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home we do.

A Casket Price List, which describes the caskets provided by that particular funeral home. This list must be kept at the funeral home, and is not required to be given to consumers, but available for review. We will provide them to anyone who asks.

An Outer Burial Container Price List, which describes the outer burial containers offered. This list must be kept at the funeral home, and is not required to be given to consumers, but available for review. We will provide them to anyone who asks.

If any Funeral home or funeral director declines to discuss his or her prices for services, facilities, or merchandise, or refuses to give you a price list, find a different funeral home or funeral director.

NO FUNERAL HOME MAY REFUSE TO USE ANY FUNERAL MERCHANDISE PURCHASED BY A CONSUMER FROM ANOTHER SOURCE, OR CHARGE A FEE TO DO SO. YOU MAY PURCHASE A CASKET, OUTER BURIAL CONTAINER, CREMATION URN, CREMATION URN VAULT OR ANY FUNERAL MERCHANDISE FROM ANY SOURCE. A FUNERAL HOME MUST USE IT.
