Lois age 83 of Appleton, died peacefully at her home on Saturday January 10, 2009. Lois was born November 22, 1925 in Appleton to the late Arthur and Alvina (Nitzband) Ziegler, and lived in Appleton her entire life. She is a graduate of Appleton High School class of 1943. Lois worked many years ago at AAL. On June 30, 1949, Lois was united in marriage to LeRoy Tiede at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Appleton. Together, the couple enjoyed 59 years together. Lois was a member at St. Paul Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She was a sweet Angel who was the most caring and doting wife, mother, and grandmother. She spoiled her family with her unselfish love and attention. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, canning, and freezing vegetables from the garden and especially loved tending to her beautiful flower beds. She also enjoyed fishing Up North and taking long walks in the woods. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, God took her in His loving arms to be with Him in heaven. She will be missed by her husband LeRoy of Appleton; 2 daughters: Jennell (Mark) Ballering, Madison, and Marcia (Richard) Rew, Neenah; 4 grandchildren: Nicholas Ballering, Eva Ballering, Amber (Michael) Lashua, and Clifton Rew. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Gail Tiede, and her sister Barlette Peterson. A Funeral Service for Lois will be held 11 AM, Tuesday January 13, 2009 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 323 N. Morrison St. Appleton, with the Rev. RC Waack officiating. Friends may visit at the church on Tuesday from 9 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for St. Paul Lutheran Church has been established in her name. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at ThedaCare at Home Hospice for the compassionate care shown to Lois.
