Floyd, age 98, of Neenah, passed away July 3, 2009, at Oak Ridge Gardens Nursing Center. Floyd was born February 2, 1911, in La Crosse, WI, son of the late Margaret and Gustave Wolters. He married the former Helen Crabb on Jun 23, 1936, in Appleton sharing 73 years together.
Floyd enjoyed painting pictures, wood carving, camping, playing cards and loved playing his favorite musical instrument, the Conn Organ. Floyd was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah. Floyd was employed for 44 years at American Can Co., Graphic Center, Neenah and was Superintendent of Roto Gravure Department for the past 20 years prior to his retirement in 1973. After retiring, Floyd and Helen resided for the past 34 years in Zephyrhills, FL, during the winter and Neenah in the summer months.
Floyd is survived by his wife Helen, Neenah; 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law: John and Judy, Nekoosa; David and Barbara, Menasha; Paul, Neenah; 7 grandchildren: Jeff (Cass) Wolters, Menomonee Falls; Lisa Wolters, Wausau; Beth (Peter) Spinner, Greenville; Greta (Steve) Cotnoir, Combined Locks; Tim (Kristen) Wolters, Minneapolis; Brian (Heather) Wolters, Menasha; Stacy (Scott) Rovegno, Chicago; 8 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law: Robert Crabb and his fiancé, Jo Kintopf, Appleton and a sister-in-law: Mrs. Frances (Grace) Crabb, DePere. Floyd was preceded in death by his brother Urban and a sister Ethel Prasher.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St. Neenah, with Rev. Richard Allen officiating. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 AM until the time of service. Memorials may directed to St. Gabriel Catholic Church
Floyd: husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, has been called to serve the Lord. We will miss your love and tenderness that you shared with us and our love for you will always be deeply in our Hearts.
