John, age 63, of Appleton, passed away Sunday July 19, 2009, at William S. Middleton Memorial Hospital in Madison. He was born March 25, 1947, in Iron River, MI, son of the late Oscar and Elin (Hautamaki) Olson. He married Leann Herzfeldt August 23, 2008, in Appleton. John served in the Army during the Viet Nam War.
John is survived by his wife; Leann, a step-daughter: Amanda and her friend Tony; 2 brothers and sister-in-law: Richard and Cynthia Olson, Joliet, IL; James and Rose Olson, Bloomington, MN; a niece, Laurie and 3 nephews: Steve, Chris and Devin.
A memorial service will be held 6 PM, Friday, July 24, 2008, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rich Engle officiating. Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Friday from 5 PM until the time of service.
