Age 76, died Friday September 11, 2009 at Crestwood Senior Living Center in Menasha. Leone was born in the Town of Lanark, WI, on July 18, 1933 to the late James T. and Catherine (Lynch) Cooney. She worked as a hairstylist for many years, retiring in 1996.
Leone is survived by her sister Ruby Neilsen, Appleton; 3 nieces: Janet (Robert) Popp, of Friendship, WI, Mary (Rick) McNevin, Neenah, and Kitty (Mark) Check, Whitelaw, WI; 3 nephews: Mike (Suzanne) Neilsen, Milwaukee, John (Joan) Dunn, McHenry, IL, and James (Deli) Davis, Ventura, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters: Mary June, Nellie, Madeline, Maxine Carpenter, and Jean Davis; and a brother, Borden Cooney.
A graveside service will take place at 2 pm Friday, September 18 at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, in the Town of Lanark.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Crestwood Senior Living Center for their kindness, care, and concern shown to Leone.
