Betty J. Martin, 93, formerly of Front St. Upper Sandusky, OH, has been residing at Fairhaven Health Care Community passed away there on Tues. Aug. 18, 2009 at 11:30 p.m

She was born Sept. 18th, 1915, in Ada, OH, to Harry and Edith (Wilson) Turner. She graduated from Forest High School in 1933. On March 23rd, 1939, she married Charles M. Hendricks in Cleveland, OH. He died in Aug. 1949 in Ft. Lauderdale, FlL. She then married Henry “Hank” Martin on July 2nd, 1955 in Upper Sandusky, OH. He died Dec. 31st, 1990.

Surviving are two daughters, Ann Hopp of Upper Sandusky, OH and Jill (Paul) Huelskamp of Troy, OH, four grandchildren: Lisa Derrico of Pomfret Center, Ct., Cliff Schindel of Kettering, OH, Tracy Pohl of Kettering, OH, and Whitney Smith of Kettering, OH. There are four great-grandchildren: Joe and Danielle Derrico of Ct. and Nathan and Avery Pohl of Kettering, OH. Two brothers, Perry and Jack Turner are deceased.

Mrs. Martin was a retired registered nurse, graduating from The Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, OH. In 1936. She was employed as Wyandot County health nurse from 1951 through 1967, during which time she was a member of several civic organizations. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church, American Legion Auxiliary, TB Health Association, Crippled Children’s Society, Heart Association and American Cancer Society.

Rev. Mary Curtis will officiate a private graveside service with interment held at Old Mission Cemetery.

A public memorial service will be held Fri. Aug. 21, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. in the Fairhaven Community Chapel 850 Marseilles Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH

Memorials contributions may be American Heart Association, American Legion Auxiliary, Wyandot Co. Senior Citizen’s Council on Aging and First Presbyterian Church in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E. Wyandot Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
