| | | Carol E. Swihart, age 74 of Harpster, OH died at 9:50 a.m. Sept. 2, 2009 in Fairhaven Health Care Center. She was born Dec. 11, 1934 in Fostoria, OH to the late Charles E. & Catherine G. (Walter) Walters.
She married S. Craig Swihart in St. Paul Lutheran Church on Aug. 22, 1954 and they celebrated 55 years together and he survives in Harpster along with 2 sons Stephen C. (Linda) Swihart Jr., Upper Sandusky, OH, Chris (Gena)
Swihart, Syracuse, IN and a daughter Nina Berry, Sevierville, TN, 8 grandchildren Amy Stewart, Matt Swihart, Tamie Mathew, Kyle Swihart, Anna
Swihart, Kara Faucet, Christina Passet, David Passet, 12 great grandchildren, and a sister Sally (Sherman) Stansbery, Upper Sandusky, OH.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was a former sunday school teacher.
Mrs. Swihart was a homemaker and assisted on the family farm. She had also worked at the Wyandot Co. Health Dept. and Wyandot Co. Courthouse. Mrs. Swihart was a Genealogist she published books, articles and columns in the Rambling Researcher. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star # 366 and was past worthy matron. Mrs. Swihart was also a member of the Usando Literary Club, Wyandot Tracers, Rainbow Girls, Lady Shriners, National Rifle Assoc. and a NRA cetified instructor. She was an stenographer for the Ohio Rifle & Pistol Assoc. She helped her family run the Wyandot Gun Club. Mrs. Swihart was passionate about her genealogy work. Her hobbies included golfing and reading. Most importantly she enjoyed her family.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Sat. Sept. 5, 2009 at Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Trestor officiating. Burial will be in Little Sandusky Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Friday
Sept. 4, 2009 with a Eastern Star Memorial Service at 8pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Upper Sandusky Library or the Wyandot Historical Society in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E. wyandot Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
