Steven R. Reber, age 61 of Upper Sandusky died in Wyandot Memorial Hospital on Sat. Oct. 24, 2009 at 7:08 a.m.

He was born on Feb. 7, 1948 in Kenton, OH to the late Lewis E. and Margaret P. (Brown) Reber. Steve married Judy Courtad on Sept. 23, 1972 in the Trinity United Church of Christ and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

He has a son surviving Nathan (JoAnn) Reber, Delaware, granddaughter Katharina Reber, Delaware, brother Larry L. (Sonia) Reber, Strongsville, sister Sandy S. (Curt) Pippen, Phoenix, AZ, mother-in-law Clona Courtad, Upper Sandusky, sister-in-law Sandy Fox, Agoura Hills, CA, 4 nieces Michelle German, Melanie Benjamin both of Phoenix, AZ, Kaitlin Reber, Cleveland, Shanon Schmidt, Agoura Hills, CA, 3 nephews Korey & Kevin Reber, Cleveland, and Shaun Fox, Thousand Oaks, CA.

Mr. Reber was a lifetime member of the former Salem United Methodist Church where he was a Sunday School Superintendent.

He graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1966 and graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He also served in the Army Reserves.


Steve was founder/partner of Cedar Bay Construction in Huron, OH from 1977-1998. He then worked as a Civil Engineer for Kokosing Construction.

He was a member of the Buckeye Club at the Ohio State University and enjoyed season tickets to OSU football and basketball games. His hobbies included yard work, boating, water skiing, family trips to Lake Powell, and watching and attending sporting events. He liked horses and often would attend the Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus. Most of all Steve loved spending time with his family and grandaughter.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday Oct. 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Brad McKibben officiating. Visitation will be on Wed. Oct. 28, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Church of Christ, Union Salem United Methodist Church, Upper Sandusky Ram Athletic Boosters or the charity of the donor’s choice in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E.
