Thomas F. Swinehart, age 77, formerly of N. 4th St., had been residing at Fairhaven Health Care Community for the past 8 years died at Riverside Hospital, Columbus, OH on Tues. Oct. 27, 2009 at 6:58 a.m.

He was born Dec. 24, 1931 in Upper Sandusky, OH to the late Dale and Cora (Bolyard) Swinehart. He married Dorothy Priddy in 1954 they later divorced, she survives in Upper Sandusky, OH. He is survived by a son Michael D. Swinehart, Weston, OH, 2 daughters Pamela (Jay) England, Upper Sandusky, OH, Lori (Chet) Rowe, Upper Sandusky, OH, 2 grandchildren, Joshua (Amanda Fox) Swinehart & Kevin Simonis, 2 great grandchildren, Micah Swinehart & Malachi “M.J.” Simonis, a brother Eugene Swinehart, Upper Sandusky, OH, a sister Betty Carr, Upper Sandusky, OH. He is preceded in death by a son Gary Swinehart.

He graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1949.

He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War and was a POW for 11 months .

Mr. Swinehart retired from Timken Roller Bearing, Bucyrus, OH, having worked in the shipping department.

He was life member of both VFW Post #2842 and AmVets #777.

Tom enjoyed watching westerns on TV. His favorite team was the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed motorcycles, taking walks, playing cards and attending public auctions.

Funeral services will be held Fri. Oct. 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bringman Clark Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Geissinger officiating.

Visitation will be held Fri. Oct. 30, 2009 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home before time of services.

Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery, Nevada, OH where military graveside rites will be held by local veteran organizations

Memorial contributions may be made to Wyandot Memorial Hospital or Fairhaven Health Care Community in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E. Wyandot Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
