Merle K. Raymond, age 74, of S. 8th St. Upper Sandusky , died at Wyandot Memorial Hospital on Wed. Oct. 28, 2009 at 3:14 p.m. He was born July 26, 1935 in Upper Sandusky to Gerald and Dorothy (Hotelling) Leightey Raymond, both deceased.
He married Ilse Greilich on Jan. 28, 1956 in Good Hope Lutheran Church, Bucyrus, and she survives in Upper Sandusky, along with 2 daughters Dawn (Ron) Davidson, Tiffin, and Karine Lewis, Shelby, 9 grandchildren, Keaton, Brandt and Kaleb Raymond, Ronald, Jordan and Amanda Davidson, Kaytlyn, Graham and Connor Lewis, a great grandchild, Adrianne Raymond, 3 brothers, Melvin (Peggy) Raymond, Upper Sandusky, Ronald Raymond, Findlay, Allen (Joyce) Raymond, Kirtland, 2 sisters, Ann Harris & Rita (Harvey) Stansbery, both of Upper Sandusky. He is preceded in death by a son Kenneth Raymond, grandson, Mathew Davidson, sister, Linda Penwell, son-in-law, Robert Lewis & daughter-in-law, Brenda Raymond.
He graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1953 and attended OSU for 2 years. He was member of First Lutheran Church , Upper Sandusky . Mr. Raymond retired from GM, Mansfield, in 2006 as a tool & die maker after 22 years, he had previously worked at Tecumseh, Marion , for 18 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge #1093 and Northwester Ohio Camping Club. He enjoyed traveling in his diesel-pusher motor home, fishing at Lake Erie and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Mon. Nov. 2, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the BRINGMAN CLARK Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Trester officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission cemetery.
