Wayne C "Capper" Stutzman, age 72, of 819 Chestnut St., Hegins, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

He was born on Friday, February 7, 1936 in Hegins, a son of the late Howard C Stutzman and the late Myrtle A (Minnich) Stutzman.

He was a 1954 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School.

He served in the U.S. Army for two years and was stationed in Korea for a year.

He was a co owner of the former Stutzman's Plumbing and Heating, Hegins.

He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Hegins.

He was Secretary/Treasurer of the Hegins Trap Club for 30 years; a member of the American Trap Association; and Secretary of St. John's Cemetery since 1969.

He was preceded in death by a sister Marian Hoffman.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra M. (Carl) Stutzman, to whom he was married for 44 years.

He is also survived by two sons, Douglas H Stutzman and his wife Mary of Trevorton, and Matthew W Stutzman of Hegins; a daughter, Faith A Raudenbush and her husband Robert of Port Allegany; a grandson, Zane M Raudenbush of New Brunswick, NJ; four granddaughters, Kayla J Raudenbush of Port Allegany, Sarah M Stutzman of Trevorton, Stephanie N Stutzman of Trevorton, and Victoria E Stutzman of Hegins; a great-granddaughter, Olivia M Manrique-Raudenbush of New Brunswick, NJ; a sister, Ruby Tobias of Pine Grove; and a brother, Donald C Stutzman of Hegins.

Services were held at St. John's United Methodist Church, Hegins, on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William Danis officiating.

A viewing was held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the church.

Burial with Military Honors was made in St. John's Cemetery, Hegins.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 285 , Hegins PA 17938.

Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
