Anna Berdella Shoffler, age 96, of York Terrace Nursing Center, Pottsville, formerly of Valley View, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009 at York Terrace Nursing Center.

She was born on Wednesday, September 25, 1912 in Barry Twp, a daughter of the late Samuel Troup and the late Sevilla (Lucas) Troup.

She had worked for the former Miller's Bakery, Valley View; she had also done housekeeping for area residents.

She was a member of the Weishample Church of God; where she had been a Sunday School Teacher.

She was a former member of the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer L Shoffler in 1977, by two sons Robert Shoffler and Donald Shoffler, and a daughter Anna Shoffler.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty V Becker of Valley View and Ellen E Topolski and her husband, Eugene of Ranshaw; a son, Calvin E Shoffler and his wife, Jean of Tower City, nineteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren; and a daughter in law, Mildred Shoffler of Gordon.

Services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev George Jensen officiating.

A viewing was held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Burial was in the Church of God Cemetery, Weishample.
