Gladys A. Stutzman, 91, formerly of Shartlesville, passed away Saturday, July 25th at the Schuylkill Medical Center, East, Pottsville.

Mrs. Stutzman was a patient of the Tremont Health and Rehab for the past few months, prior to that she was a resident at Waterbridge Assisted Living, Pine Grove for two years.

Born in Hegins, June 27, 1918 a daughter of the late Robert and Maude Smeltz Bixler.

She was a graduate of the former Hegins High School. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sacramento. She also belonged to the Shartlesville Senior Citizens and the Mount Pleasant Fire Company Auxiliary.

She and her late husband enjoyed restoring homes, she also enjoyed, knitting, crocheting, ceramics and crafts.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Nelson, 1989 and her son, Robert in 1991.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mary Stutzman, a grandson, Robert Stutzman and a granddaughter Jennifer Stutzman. 4 Great Grandchildren. She is alos survived by her friends and caregivers, Robert and Dolly Troutman, Valley View. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 28th at 11:00 am from the Buffington Reed Funeral Home, Valley View with Rev. Raymond Holland. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Viewing was from 10 -11 am at the funeral home. Memorial donations should be made to the Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania, 4813 Jonestown Road, Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17109.
