| | | Deloris Emma Davidson, age 89, of Seymour, formerly of Crothersville, passed away at Schneck Medical Center, in Seymour, IN, on Thursday, November 8, 2007, at 1:55 a.m. She was born on March 31, 1918, in Jackson County, IN and was the daughter of George Robertson and Sarah Ethel (Bell) Laraway. Deloris married John Davidson on October 26, 1935 in Jackson Co., and he preceded her in death. They lived in Crothersville for over 40 years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crothersville and was employed with Huntington Jewelry Store in Greensburg for several years. She retired from Murray’s 5&10 in Crothersville. During her mother’s lifetime, the family had 6 generations of women living. She enjoyed her family and bowling.
She is survived by four sons: George (Evelyn) Davidson, of Vevay, Harry (Nancy) Davidson, of Burlington, Wisconsin, Harold Davidson, of Indianapolis and Jarold (Kim) Davidson, of Indianapolis; 2 daughters: Janet (Steve) Clark, of Seymour and Linda Hayward, of Indianapolis; 20 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
1brother: Roscoe (Neva) Laraway, of Hanover; 2 sisters: Doris Ayers, of Brownstown and Edith (Bruce) Carter, of Seymour.
Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Thelma LaBonty, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, and sons-in-law, Johnny Hayward and Jack LaBonty.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 12, 2007, at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Paul Ayers officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2007, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Burkholder Funeral Chapel and on Monday from 12 noon until the time of service. Burial will take place at Robertson Cemetery, Honeytown following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Crothersville - Deacon Fund, or the donor’s choice.
