Mary B. Laczko "Granny", 94, of Windham, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2009. She was born April 16, 1915 in Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania to Andrew and Theresa (Begela) Veres. She was an extruder operator at Mantaline Corp. Mary was strong in her faith and had a devotion to the rosary. She enjoyed bingo, cross-stitch, the Cleveland Indians and time with her family. She was a member of St. Michael's Church and the Ladies Guild.
Mary is survived by her son, Ernest (Lucille) Laczko of Mantua, daughter, Irene, (Bill) Hickman of Windham, son-in-law, Kenny (Judy) DeYoung of Mantua; sister-in-law, Irene Veres of Willowick; 9 grandchildren: and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Laczko Sr.; daughter, Mary Therese DeYoung; brother, Andrew Veres Sr.; sister, Theresa Fedor; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Windham. Private burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St. Garrettsville, Ohio 44231.
