| | | John Jay Laning III, 50, of Nelson, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2009. He was born June 26, 1959 in Garrettsville to John and Malinda (Williams) Laning, Jr. Jay was a handyman, and an avid NASCAR and football fan. He enjoyed working on motors and spending time with his family and friends.
Jay is survived by his mother, Malinda, of Winthrop, Maine; wife, Elizabeth, of Nelson; daughters, Jessica (Adam) Duvall of Brandon, Fla.; Anna of Newton Falls, and Jaclyn of Nelson Twp.; brothers, Mark of Mantua and Eric (Carla) of Northfield; sisters, Gwynne D’Amico of Glenside, Pa and Wendy (James) Barrow of Cincinnati; a grandson, Brennen; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John J. Laning Jr. and grandmother, Bette Benes.
Calling hours will be 1-3 PM on Monday, October 19, 2009 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Oh. 44231. Funeral Services will be at 3 PM on Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Fred Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Garrettsville.
