Bernard Benedetto Sr., loving husband of 67 years of Millie Verrilli Benedetto, died Thursday, July 5 at Bridgeport Hospital. Age 93, he was retired many years and had been employed by A&P for 35 years. He also owned Bernie’s Package Store in Shelton. He was predeceased by a brother, Bart Benedetto and a grandson, Michael Ahearn. Also predeceased by his mother-in-law Carmela Verrilli. He was born in 1913, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gaetano Benedetto. Survivors include his loving wife, Millie Benedetto ; beloved children, Carmen Ahearn and husband, George of Stratford and , Bernard Benedetto and his wife, Carol of Oxford; sisters, Mary Benedetto Cocco and Nicolina Benedetto Sabatelli ; sister-in-law, Mary Kourlis Benedetto; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church Main Street Stratford. Interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 9:00-9:30a.m. The family would like to express their love and thanks to very special angel, Jennifer. Contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
