| | | | Vincent J. Basso, age 81, of Bridgeport, passed away May 8, 2009 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Mr. Basso was born in Ossining NY to the late Salvatore and Florence (Lannigan) Busse. He was a grocery manager and clerk for Mohican Market and Food World. A merchant seaman, he was also an army veteran during WWII. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years Maureen (Mahoney) Basso of Bpt.; four sons, James P. Basso ( Dawn) of Citra, FL, Kevin R. Basso (Angela) of Derby, Daniel M. Basso ( Michelle Cheverette) of Shelton, and David S. Basso of Hamden; one sister, Barbara (Busse) Smith of Montrose, N.Y. ; one brother, Philip Busse of Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Anthony, Angelia , Stephen, Joseph, Amy , David, and Marc and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. and at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church 1596 Boston Ave. Bpt. Inurment on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. at St. Michael's Garden Mausoleum. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Swim Across the Sound c/o St. Vincent's Medical Center 2800 Main Street Bridgeport.
