| | | | This day, April 12th, marks the passing of a very special person, Flora Babian. The world is a darker place for it. Her zeal and courage stood out even among a remarkable generation. During the war years, she fought hard for women's rights in the workplace, serving as the union representative at General Electric; one of the first women to do so. In her eighties, Flora continued to work hard, assisting young people at the Bpt. Police Community Services, earning several accolades. But she will be best remembered for her zeal for her ministry. Sister Babian dedicated her life to God in 1955 and from that time on she tirelessly preached the word; going from house to house, on the bus, anywhere she found a listening ear. Even as her health diminished, she praised her God to those who came to her bedside. How grateful we her family are, that she shared her beliefs with us. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Babian. Survivors include two daughters, Faith Schepis and her husband Richard, of Trumbull and Dorothy Robles and her husband Sergio, of CA; one sister Amelia Groose, of St. Louis, MO; two granddaughters, Dawn Dixon and Robin Wright and four great grandchildren, Larissa, Owen, Garrett and Wesley Dixon. Friends may call on Saturday , April 14, 2007 from 4 to 8 p.m., in the Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Jehovah's Witness Trumbull Kingdom Hall 211 Spring Hill Rd. Interment will be private. .
