| | | Beatrice N. Staneko, age 88, of Nichols, passed away May 28, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Staneko was born in Bridgeport to the late Charles and Mary Newton and was a longtime Trumbull resident. She was the assistant to the Director of the Recreation Center at Fairfield University. She was an avid fun lover; however her greatest passion was being a devoted mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband Captain Joseph X. Staneko and her brother Clifford Newton. Survivors include her two daughters Justine C. Staneko with whom she resided and Johanna S. Erwin of Ardmore, PA; her brother Kenneth Newton of Shelton; two grandaughters Emily C Erwin and Sarah J. Erwin and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to attend her services on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd. and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church 190 Shelton Rd. Trumbull. Inurnment to follow in Nichols Village Cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 9:30a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the CT Humane Society 701 Russell Rd. Newington, CT 06111.
