Mr. Raymond Burcham was a master butcher in a trade where very few still exist. He worked for Craycraft's Foodland in Catlettsburg, KY as the meat department manager from 1969-1976, then returned again and ran it from 1988-2003 at which time he retired. His dedication to the trade and his reputation lives on in the co-workers who apprenticed under him. He was totally obsessed with cleanliness and I can say he ran the best quality meat department in the whole area. He was smart and witty, he always had a unique take on every situation that made everyone laugh and we are still laughing at the things he said to this day. He was a total professional in a field that finds few nowadays. Ray will be missed and will never be forgotten. May you rest in peace Mr. Burcham, you touched many lives and taught many with your dedication to quality and customer service. | From: Andy Brown 08/20/2010 09:50 AM

Let me say that Ray was one of the finest men I ever knew. I had the pleasure of working with him while in college, first at Jack Thornburg's market, and later at Damron's. He was an exceptional man--kind-hearted, genuine, and had a funny sense of humor. His proudest moments were when he spoke of his family, particularly his daughters. He fairly glowed with pride when he spoke of them. It was a priviledge to know him, and he will be missed. God's Blessings to all of you at this difficult time. | From: Wilma Anderson 06/02/2010 09:02 AM

To the Burcham Family:
Krista, Kelly, and I were deeply saddened to hear of Ray's passing. Although we were only backyard neighbors, he will be truly missed when we won't see him working in the yard. If you should need anything please feel free to call. May he rest in peace in God's arms.
