| | | Betty J. Meadows, 77, of Huntington, WV, widow of Richard D. Meadows, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Chapmans Mortuary. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. She was born October 6, 1934 a daughter of the late Ray and Lola B. Pauley. A son, Richard Lee Meadows, two sisters, Lillian Creech and Bessie Meade, and a brother, Clifford Pauley also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of Hand of God Baptist Church. Survivors include: a daughter, Danette K. Shafer; a son and daughter-in-law, John David and Sarabeth Meadows; her grandchildren which were the joys of her life, John-Richard Lee Shafer and his wife, Amber, Jessica lee and Carly Marie Meadows; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Hope, Camron Lee, Johnathan Lee and Natalie Marie. Also surviving are her sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Dana Griffith, Linda and John Bailey; brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Mary Pauley, several nieces, nephews and members of the Meadows family. The family would like to thank the staff of Cabell Huntington Hospital, Julie Mylar and the kind staff of Huntington Health and Rehab, the Lewis Memorial Visitation team, and so many friends and family members who have offered their support during her illness. Mom, you have joined Dad, and we will see you both in Heaven. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at the funeral home.
