| | | Mary Frances Porterfield died June 25, 2012 at Genesis Healthcare Heritage Center, Huntington, WV. Mary was born in Princeton, WV. to Ralph and Clara Porterfield who preceded her in death. She graduated from Collins High School, Oak Hill, WV and Laird Memorial School of Nursing, Montgomery, WV in 1956. Her nursing career included service at Laird Memorial Hospital, Beckley General Hospital, and St. Mary’s Hospital, Huntington, WV. Mary also worked for Southwestern Community Action Council. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Gerald DePrie, and her daughter Kathryn DePrie, and her older brother Ralph W. Porterfield. Survivors include her younger brother David Michael Porterfield and his children Debra Athey, and Ralph David Porterfield, her sister-in-law, Joanne Porterfield, and her children Bill Porterfield and Ginger Huffman and their children. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 am, Friday June 29, 2012 at Chapman’s Mortuary with Pastor Jennifer Obermueller oficiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, WV.
