| | | Rinehart, John Ellsworth, 86 of Broken Arrow died Tuesday, May 19, 2009. He was born to Julian & Ollie (McClure) Rinehart January 31, 1923 near Hartshorne, Ok. where he was raised. John married Dorothy Goolsby February 5, 1942 in Colbert, Ok. He served in World War II in the Army Air Corp and Korea in the Army. They moved to the Tulsa area in the early 1960’s. John worked for Rockwell in Tulsa and later McAlester as an Aeronautical Engineer, working on parts and components for the Space Shuttle. He retired in 1981 after over 20 years. He returned to Broken Arrow in 1987. John was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and the “Young At Heart” group of Broken Arrow Neighbors where he volunteered for many years. He is survived by a son Shane Rinehart; a daughter Lisa Harris & husband Mike; and a granddaughter Veronica Harris; all of Broken Arrow. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy exactly 3 years ago to the day, his parents and 2 brothers. A Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm Thursday at Christian~Gavlik Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 am Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church and burial with Military Honors will follow at Floral Haven Cemetery, all under the direction of Christian~Gavlik Funeral Home (251-6464).
