| | | | CANAL FULTON –William Lee Armour, 89, passed away at his residence May 18, 2008. Mr. Armour was born in Pembrooke, KY and had resided in Canal Fulton since 1988, moving there from Akron. He retired in 1980 from Ray Electric as an electrician with 40 years service and was a member of Local 306 IBEW. He was a member of Phillip and James Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 547 and was a past member of AOH Mark Heffernan Division. Mr. Armour was a Veteran of WW2 having served with the U. S. Army as a tank driver in the European Theater and was recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was an avid bowler and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn; children, Sharon (Doug) Brown of New Franklin, Patrick and Michael Armour, both of Canal Fulton and Elizabeth Dayton of Massillon; grandchildren, Chris (Tracy) Brown, Shannon Brown, Erin Young, William Brown, Bridget Brown, Patrick Dayton, Lisa Dayton and Heather (Adam) Gleason; great-grandchildren, Aniyah and Diante Dayton and Brooke Young; brother, Odell (Mary) Armour; sisters, Cecil Riddle, Lois Schahl and Christine (Jim) Neilson and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Wednesday in Immaculate Heart of Mary, Father Thomas McCann celebrant. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials to the Hibernian Club 2000 Brown St. Akron, OH 44319 or Aultman Hospice 2821 Woodlawn NW Canton, OH 44708.
