CUYAHOGA FALLS –Brian Lee Abel slipped peacefully into the loving arms of his beloved mother on May 18, 2008. Born March 4, 1959 at Green Cross (Cuyahoga Falls General) Hospital Brian has lived his entire life in Cuyahoga Falls, where he attended school, graduating from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1977.

Brian was employed for 22 years as Custodian of Cuyahoga Falls schools, 17 years at Richardson Elementary school. Brian was loved and respected by all who knew him. “His teachers” were like family to him and he enjoyed taking care of them. He enjoyed doing special things, like his artwork on the board (especially Lily and her purple plastic purse), dressing as the Easter bunny, surprising them with treats and surprising them with Christmas lights in the classroom. Walking them to the car when they worked late or opening up on Saturday so they could work in their classroom.

Preceded in death by his mother, Lagatha Abel, Brian leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Diane Wyant Abel; son John McIntyre of the home; daughter, Jennifer (Joe) Blados of Bedford Heights; his “special love” granddaughter Joey Alison Blados and her brother James Alan Blados; father, Wendell (Sheila) Abel of East Liverpool; brothers, Reid (Patty) Abel of New London, Drew (Beth) Abel of Cuyahoga Falls; nieces Trudi Abel, Traci (Paul) Cherry of Ashland and Sarah Abel of Cuyahoga Falls; great-niece and –nephew, Gabriella and Theaden. Brian will also be missed by Diane’s family and his many, many faithful friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of Visiting Nurse Service for all their caring and support.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday 6-9 pm in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 11 am Thursday, by Rev. Dr. Patricia Abel. Friends may also call beginning at 10 am Thursday. The family requests in lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society 525 North Broad St. Canfield, OH 44406 or Stewart’s Caring Place 2955 W. Market St. Suite R Fairlawn, OH 44333.
