| CUYAHOGA FALLS -Betty A. Backlund (nee Kimmell) lost her two year battle with lung cancer October 17, 2005. She was born in 1925. Betty graduated from North High School in 1943 and was married to Walter her husband the same day. She worked at American Anode during the War and later she worked at Eastern Central Motor Carriers Assoc. She also was a part-time Admitting Officer at the Juvenile Detention Center. Most recently Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Betty is survived by husband, Walter, to whom she was married for 62 years. Also surviving are daughter, Deborah (Martin) Rourke of Massachusetts; sons, David of Hawaii and Denis (Laura) of Barberton and grandchildren, Martin and Meaghan Rourke and Derek Backlund. Special thanks to Norma Beck of the Visiting Nurse Assoc. for her care and concern. No visiting hours and services for the family will be private. No flowers please.
