CUYAHOGA FALLS - Jim Atchison, 75, passed away November 21, 2005.
Born in Springfield, Ohio, Jim lived in Cuyahoga Falls for the past 28 years, coming there from Stow. Jim graduated from Wittenberg University (class of 1952), served in the Army during the Korean War, was an active member of AA for 22 years, and an active member of Grandview United Methodist Church for 23 years. He retired from Ohio Edison in Residential Marketing with 40 years service and was a very avid golfer. Jim loved his grandchildren and tried to attend as many of their sporting events as possible.
Preceded in death by parents Roscoe and Nelle Atchison and sister Maxine Harmon Atha, he is survived by his wife Peggy; sons, Bill (Osta) and Tom (Cathy) Atchison; daughter, Susan (Todd) Pippert; stepchildren, Evelyn (Steve) Sprowl and Roger (Tina) Fleming; grandchildren, Nic, Jessica and Amanda Sprowl, Kelsey and Kyle Atchison, Katie and Freddy Atchison, Colin and Mason Pippert, Brandon and Austin Fleming; mother-in-law, Gladys M. Smith; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Billie and Bill Allen; nephews, Dick (Nancy) and Mark (Patti) Harmon; and niece, Jackie (Jim) Markim.
Friends may call at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, Friday, November 25, from 5 to 8 pm. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 26, at 10:00 am at Grandview United Methodist Church, 2315 Phelps Ave., Cuyahoga Falls, Rev. James MacKenzie officiating. Interment will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, where American Legion Charles Faust Post #281 will give military honors.
