CUYAHOGA FALLS - J. Thomas Ballard, 83, passed away March 22, 2006, after a period of declining health.
Mr. Ballard was born in Cleveland, Ohio and had resided most of his life in Cuyahoga Falls. He was a January 1940 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, served in the U. S. Navy during WWII, graduated from the University of Miami in 1947 and worked for the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Advertising until retiring in 1982. He was active with Coach House Theater, Weathervane Community Playhouse and Peninsula Players.
Preceded in death by his parents John Bedford and Eva Carr Ballard, he is survived by his cousins, John C. Hupman of Findlay, and Jean Nunley of Green and good friends, F. Robert Fuller of Cleveland and W. Parker Browne of Akron.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park, 2613 Sackett Ave, Cuyahoga Falls, Rev. Cecil Wagstaff officiating. In lieu of other remembrances the family requests memorials to Traditions at Bath Road, National Church Residences, 300 E. Bath Rd, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223 in his memory.
