Dorothy Jane Babcock, 83, died September 2, 2006. Mrs. Babcock was born in Akron, had resided in Cuyahoga Falls since 1976 and had lived in Florida for 5 years. She graduated from Buchtel High School in 1940, attended the University of Akron from 1940 to 1942 and Purdue University in 1943 in conjunction with her work at Curtis-Wright and graduated from the University of Akron in 1973. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, had worked for the Children’s Services Board of Summit County for 14 years and previously Curtis-Wright in Columbus and Babcock and Wilcox.

Mrs. Babcock was preceded in death by her husband, James L; granddaughter, Kimberly Anne Stalnaker; brother, Herbert Pahler and sister, Virginia and is survived by her sons, James A. (Jennifer) of Wooster, William L. of Mansfield and Thomas E. of Orlando, FL; daughter, Linda (Ray) Stalnaker of Cuyahoga Falls; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Tuesday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church 2121 6th St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, Pastor Robert E. Linsz officiating. Interment Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Lukes Lutheran Church Building Fund.
