SILVER LAKE – June R. Rowan, 94, passed away October 1, 2009.

Mrs. Rowan was born in Youngstown, Ohio, graduated from Kent State University where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She worked as a teacher in Leetonia, Ohio. She had resided in Silver Lake since 1960 was a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ.

Preceded in death by her husband Malcolm and son William, she is survived by her daughters, Lynne Rowan and Gail Rowan both of Silver Lake and Jill (Gregory) Carroll of Tryon, NC; daughter-in-law Rebecca Rowan of Bath and grandchildren, Melissa (Patrick) Carroll Jackson, Megan Carroll, Jared Rowan, Margie Rowan and Hayley Rowan.

There will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kent State University Pathology and Audiology Dept for Student Scholarships, PO Box 5190, Kent, OH 44242-0001 in her memory. Entombment Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
