Virginia A. Johnson, age 78, of Johnstown, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at home, after long illness.
She was born April 2, 1930 in the town of Mohawk, a daughter of the late Wesley W. Wilder and Gwendolyn Angus Wilder.
Virginia was a 1948 graduate of Johnstown High School. She was a member of the Foothills United Methodist Church, and a cheer full worker at church she also donated to locks of love.
Mrs. Johnson was employed as at the former Johnstown Knit until her retirement. She also worked at Saltsman’s Hotel, Jag Manufacturing and the Johnstown School Dist.
On June 19, 1949 she was untied in marriage to Harry C. Johnson and he passed away on January 23, 1994.
Survivors include three sons Tim Johnson and his wife Debra of Johnstown, Chris Johnson and his wife Deborah of Johnstown, Kurt Johnson and his wife Tammy of South Carolina; two daughters Leeann Elmore and her husband Larry of North Carolina, Deborah Hill and her Husband Gordon of Ephratah; one sister Sally Cook of St. Johnsville; several grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a brother Charles D. Wilder and a sister Vivian Cromer.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. The Rev Wayne Jones will officiate.
Friends and family may call on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Ephratah Rural Cemetery.
