Dorothy B. Steenburgh, age 84, of Johnstown, passed away on Friday December 19, 2008 at home, after being stricken. She was born September 22, 1924 in Little Falls, to the late James Hartman and Catherine Murphy Hartman. Mrs. Steenburgh was a graduate of Johnstown High School. After graduation she was employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Brennan, she then worked at the former Knox Gelatine and after she married she unselfishly dedicated her life to her family and pets. Dorothy was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish of Johnstown. On March 24, 1945 she was united in marriage to Robert J. Steenburgh and passed on January 6, 1989. Survivors include three sons James Steenburgh of Gloversville, Robert Steenburgh of Johnstown, and Brett Steenburgh of Niskayuna; two daughters Beth Haggerty of Albany and Patricia Lang of New Port; a daughter-in-law Patricia Steenburgh of Albany; grandchildren Thomas Lang, Christine Lang, Scott Lang, P.J. Lang, Bradley Steenburgh, Johnathon Steenburgh, Jacob Steenburgh, and Chase Steenburgh; one great-grandson Matthew Lang; nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 1:00p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, Warren Street, Johnstown. The Rev. Kenneth Swain will be the celebrant. Friends and family may call on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. Interment will be in the spring at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Johnstown.
