Adrienne Dorcas Dopp Hall, age 87, of Johnstown, passed away on Monday January 5, 2009 at Mount Loretto Nursing Home, Amsterdam, after a long illness.
She was born September 30, 1921in Gloversville, daughter of the late Vrooman Dopp Sr. and Mabel Herjen Dopp.
She was a 1938 Graduate of Gloversville High School and a 1942 graduate of Plattsburg with a degree in education.
Adrienne was a teacher in Newcomb from 1942 until 1955, she was then taught in the Johnstown School district until her retirement in 1978, she had a special gift for young people and touched all who knew her.
Mrs. Hall will be remembered for her kindness, compassion and deep Christian faith. She was a member of the Johnstown Reformed Church, and active in church affairs. She was also a member of the Johnstown Teachers Association, Eclectic Society, Johnstown rug hooking club, and an enthusiastic home gardener.
On December 22, 1945 she was united in marriage to Quentin James Hall and he passed on September 7, 1980.
Survivors include two daughters Carleen Crispo and her husband Al of Lafayette, Indiana, and Wilda Vainauskas and her husband Thomas of Fultonville; grandchildren Matthew, Christopher, and Lisa Vainauskas, Trista Zobitz and her husband Mark and Karyn Jones and her husband Bill; great-grandchildren Andrea, Carolyn, and Ethan Zobitz, Amaya and Avery Vainauskas, and William and Alexander Jones; two sisters Charlotte Hart and Mary Sparks.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a sister Catherine, and brothers John and Vrooman Dopp Jr.; she also leaves behind many special friends and well loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from the A. G. Cole Funeral Home Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown.
Friends and family may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Spring interment will be in Johnstown Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Northeastern New York Chapter 85 Watervliet Avenue, Albany, New York 12206.
