Frances B. Dopp Genser, age 91, of Gloversville, passed away on Friday January 16, 2009 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility, after long illness. She was born February 15, 1917 in Broadalbin, a daughter of the late Lester F. Barker and Emma Gene Benedict Barker. Mrs. Genser was a 1935 graduate of Broadalbin High School. During her lifetime, she worked for several area leather companies and retired from the former Crescent Leather Company. Frances especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to cook, play cards, and travel. She was a very special mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, the center of her familys life. Survivors include two daughters Lynda Conrad of Nelliston and Joan (George) Smrtic of Auburn; five grandchildren Randall Conrad of Nelliston, Brian Conrad of Lighthouse Point, Florida, Lisa (Mark) Johnson of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, Michael (Anne) Smrtic of Brooklyn, Thomas (Kate) Smrtic of Brooklyn; five great-grandchildren Randall Conrad of Nelliston, Taylor, Tyler, Terica Johnson of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania; Lily Smrtic of Brooklyn; a sister Ruth (Robert) Ross of Gloversville; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband of 43 years Lynn A. Dopp, her second husband Everett R. Genser Sr.; two brothers Lester E. Barker and Donald F. Barker; a sister Doris Signor and two infant sisters. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 2:00 PM from the A. G. Cole Funeral Home Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. The Rev. R.W. Williams will preside. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in the spring at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to J.A.V.A.C.
