| | | Vicki Lynn Witzke, age 54, wife of John R Witzke Sr, of Caroga Lake, NY passed away suddenly, Friday, January 23, 2009 at their winter home in Zephyrhills, FL.
On February 21, 1954, she was born in Lansing, MI and raised in Eaton Rapids, MI. She was predeceased early in life by her father, Edward Irelan. She was also predeceased by her parents, Carl & Donna P Morris.
Vicki is survived by her beloved husband, John. They treasured 35 years together. Since 1974, they lived in Taiwan and all over the eastern coast of the U.S. due to John’s employment with the U.S. Navy. She is also survived her five loving children, Angela (Carmen) Gentile, Robert (Patty) Witzke II, Dennis (April) Witzke of Gloversville, John R. (Karrie) Witzke Jr. of Fultonville, Donna Witzke (Ted Pickering) of Johnstown, and 18 grandchildren . She is also survived by caring brothers, Donald (Lynn) Irelan of Asheville, NC, Rocky (Pam) Irelan of Wellston, MI, and darling sister, Edna Umbarger of Eaton Rapids, MI and several nieces and nephews.
Prior to her bereavement, she highly enjoyed her life membership with the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 2077 in Gloversville, NY, membership with Ladies Auxiliary of AMVETS Post 550 in Zephyrhills, and membership with Chapter 149 Ladies Auxiliary of Loyal Order Of The Moose, Lodge 351 in Gloversville, NY.
Visitation hours are from 4:00-8:00 pm on Monday, February 2, 2009 at A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E Main St, Johnstown, NY. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 10:30am at the funeral home. Graveside services will be conducted at North Bush Cemetary, Caroga Lake in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 351 or VFW of Gloversville. Following the services a reception will follow at the Gloversville Moose.
