| | | Nancy L. Billa, age 57, of Johnstown, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday February 17, 2009 at Mtn. Valley Hospice House, Gloversville, after a long illness.
She was born September 25, 1951 in Gloversville.
Nancy graduated from Johnstown High School in 1969.
She was employed as a telephone operator, home health aide, and short order cook, until she retired due to illness.
Mrs. Billa was a member of the First Baptist Church, Johnstown where she served as past church secretary, ladies adult Sunday school teacher, and member of the Awana Club.
Survivors include her husband Thomas Billa whom she married October 16, 1971; a son Bryan T. Billa and his wife Azucena of Glenville; a daughter Alaine Burke and her husband Robert of Washington; one brother Michael E. Miller and his wife Bernice of Florida; a sister Jeanne Miller and Brian Dunn of Gloversville; grandchildren Kierstyn Burke, and Brody Burke; her father Michael C. Miller of Johnstown; step sisters Diana and husband Gary and Kim and her husband Todd; brothers-in-law Edward Billa and wife Edie of Johnstown, Richard Billa of Johnstown, John Billa and his wife Brenda of Johnstown, James Billa of Johnstown, Mark Billa of Broadalbin, and William Shirk of Tennessee; sisters-in-law Susan Kubovcsak of Shermantown, Barbara Hale and her husband Robert of Johnstown, and Marianne Hebert of Fort Hunter; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her mother Shirley Blanchard Miller, a sister Joann Shirk and a sister-in-law Tammy Billa.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Comrie Ave., Johnstown.
Friends and family may call on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Nancy’s memory to Mtn. Valley Hospice, or the First Baptist Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown.
