Obituary for Martha Bolster-Case

Martha Bolster-Case, 88 went home to the very arms of her loving Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in Phoenix, AZ. Martha was born on August 20, 1921 in Binghampton, NY and was one of five children born to Roy and Mary Wiggins. She married James Y. Bolster in December 1939 in Sayer, PA at the Pilgrim Holiness Church. Together, they had three children, Phyllis Jean, born in 1940, Mary Louise born in 1942, and Paul James born in 1946. In 1950, Jim and Martha adopted Dorothy Mae Walsh born in 1936. Jim and Martha were blessed to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on December 20, 1989 only a few days before his death on December 23, 1989. In 1994, Martha married widower and long-time family friend, Frank Case of Johnstown, NY in Phoenix, AZ. Frank and Martha resided in North Pole, AK near Frank’s son Dan, from 1994 until 2003 when they moved to AZ to live with Martha’s son, Paul. Frank died on October 18, 2005. Martha is survived by her two children, Mary Dettmer of Ohio and Paul Bolster of Arizona; step-son Dan Case serving as a missionary in Fiji and Alice Hinderlighter of Broadalbin, NY. Martha’s devotion and dedication to God and her family were her life purpose. Martha had great love and an uncompromising faith in God as she sought to be a woman of faith and prayer. Martha appreciated the small things in life and cherished the time she spent with her family. Martha’s entire family will miss her deeply but celebrate her life and even in the midst of sorrow, our hearts rejoice in the glorious hope of joining her in Heaven.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 10:00 a.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. The Rev. Winston Hallett will preside.
Interment will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Little Falls. Condolences to the family may be made online by visiting our website at www.agcolefuneralhome.com
