| Kenneth C. Surnear, age 61, a resident of Johnstown, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2009. He was born November 10, 1947 in Little Falls.
Ken served his Country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and a Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was employed in the leather industry and was last employed for M Leather of Gloversville until the onset of illness. Survivors include his mother Helen Surnear of Johnstown; one brother Samuel Surnear of Johnstown; two sisters Patricia Gardner and Susan Hickok both of Gloversville; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters Joan Surnear and Jane Brumaghim. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. Friends and family may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in his memory to Mountain Valley Hospice 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, New York 12078.
