| Ruth M. Dorn, age 87, a resident of Johnstown, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at home after a long illness. She was born January 3, 1922 in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Charles Rauer and Marie Voght Rauer.
She was a 1940 graduate of Johnstown High School, and was employed as a Quality Control Clerk at the Lee Dye Co. in Johnstown until her retirement in 1988. Mrs. Dorn was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, and also a member of the Women of the Moose. Survivors include her husband of 61 years Milton Dorn; one daughter Marie Ackerbauer of Johnstown: two grandchildren Carl E. Ackerbauer and Kristen M. Ackerbauer; and a long time friend Vicky HoJohn; nieces, nephews. She was predeceased by a son Karl M. Dorn in 1977; three brothers Dwaine Carl and Guy Rauer; one sister Betty Rauer. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. Friends and family may call on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be at Vale Crematory, Schenectady. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Ruth’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
