| | | Leo J. Polmateer, age 70, a resident of Rockwood, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, after a long illness. He was born May 5, 1939 in Rockwood, a son of the late Floyd Polmateer Sr. and Jennie Weaver Polmateer.
Leo served his Country in the U. S. Army from 1958 until 1964. He attended the Rockwood Pilgrim Holiness Church, and was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include two sisters Amie Hulsaver of Gloversville, and Velma Herron of Heuvelton: one brother William Polmateer of Rockwood; nieces, nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Ivan Polmatier, Floyd Polmateer Jr., Charles Polmateer, Marvin Polmateer and Virgil Polmateer; one sister Katherine Polmateer.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 1:00 p.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. The Rev. Kenneth Sickler will preside
Friends and family may call on Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment with military honors will be at Rockwood Cemetery.
