| Letta Anabel “Peg” Kovarovic, age 91, a resident of Perth, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, after a brief Illness. She was born December 19, 1917 in Johnstown, the daughter of the late John Lippert and Elizabeth Waterman Lippert.
She was employed at Fulmont Mutual Insurance Co. as a clerical assistant until her passing. Anabel attended the former United Presbyterian Church, Johnstown, and was a member of the Eastern Star, Insurance Women of Fulton County, the Johnstown Women of the Moose, and Sacandaga Golf Club. On April 16, 1946 she was united in marriage to Anthony J. Kovarovic and he died August 24, 1972. Survivors include her companion Rudy Mauro; two sons Gary Sammons and his wife Mary Ann of Middleburg, and Jake Sammons and his wife Shirley of Tribes Hill; two daughters Marlene Sherwood and husband John of Perth, and Cheryl McDermott of Burlington, New Jersey; twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one niece. She was predeceased by a sister Margaret Hollenbeck and two grandsons Jacob Sammons and Ernest Sammons. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 10:00 a.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. 215 East main Street, Johnstown. The Rev. Kenneth Dingman will preside. Friends and family may call on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda. Memorial contributions may be made in Anabel’s memory to the Perth Volunteer Fire Company 4080 St. Hwy 30 Amsterdam, New York 12010.
