| Mr. Orville J. Bradt, age 79, of Meco, died early morning June 29, 2009 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, after a brief illness. Born on October 28, 1929 in Gloversville he was the son of the late Edward Bradt and Carrie Wille Bradt. He served in the National Guard from 1951until 1956. Orville was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. He was employed as Head Steward at the Gloversville Eccentric Club, and worked for Leo Wojeski at the Elm’s Restaurant, he later became part owner with John Mahoney at the Elm’s Restaurant. Orville was also a bartender at various restaurants they include Pine Brook Golf Club, and Harold’s in Gloversville.
He is survived by two brothers Delbert Bradt and his wife Kathryn and Ralph Bradt both of Meco; several nieces and nephews Sandy (Bob) Hurlbert, Debbie (Roy) Town, Joyce (Rob) Robbins, T.J. (Kelly) Bradt, Valerie (A.C.) Bradt, Cindy (John) Vdoviak, Lynda (Curt) Bradt, Paul (Jen) Bradt; 15 great nieces and nephews; 7 great-great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a nephew John Bradt. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. The Rev. David Almleaf will preside. Friends and family may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fern Dale Cemetery, Johnstown.
