| | | Wilbur “Abe” C. Lampman Sr., age 67, a resident of Johnstown, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, following a long illness. He was born October 23, 1941 in Little Falls, a son of the late Wilmer Lampman Sr. and Beulah Stock Lampman. He served as a volunteer fireman for the Sammonsville Volunteer Fire Department. Abe was employed as a bus driver and mechanic for Brown’s Transportation, Inc. until he retired due to illness. Survivors include his wife Donna Ackerknecht Lampman whom he married November 22, 1964; two son’s Randy Lampman and his fiancée Pamela Furman of Fultonville, Wilbur C. Lampman Jr. and his wife Toni of Johnstown; two daughters Cathy Lampman and her fiancée Michael Putman of St. Johnsville, and Carole Ovitt and her husband Bruce of Gloversville; grandchildren Heather, Lacy, Ariana, Ryan, Alyssa, Randy Jr., Raquel, William, Madison, and Kamryn; great grandchildren Loghan, Dominick, Giovanni, Tracy, Matthew and Hayden; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a twin Brother Wilmer Lampman Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 10:00 a.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. The Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams will preside.
Friends and family may call on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
