Brunhilde Abel, age 77, of Johnstown, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2009, at the Wells Nursing Home, Inc. of Johnstown after a long illness. She was born on November 6, 1931 in Pfaffenhofen, Germany a daughter to the late Maximillion and Anna Kistler Magdalener. Mrs. Abel was employed at the former Coleco and Hasbro until her retirement. She was united in marriage to Clark Abel on December 19, 1958 and he passed away on July 4, 1986. Survivors include three son’s Raymond Abel and his wife Pilar of Ojai, California, Bryan Abel of Mayfield, and Tom Abel and his wife Cathy of Gloversville; two daughters Lore Martin and her husband Brian of Gloversville, and Leslie Ryan of Aspen, Colorado; three sisters Hannalore Trauscht of Depew, Henrike Titel of Germany, and Max Magdalener of Germany; several grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no funeral services. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. Cremation will be at Vale Crematory, Schenectady. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Brunhilde’s memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research Church Street Station P.O. Box 780 New York, NY 10008-0780.
