| Margaret Tagliatela, age 88, of Johnstown, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2009, at the Wells Nursing Home, Inc. of Johnstown after a long illness. She was born on January 8, 1921 in Johnstown a daughter to the late John Sokol and Barbara Antalek Sokol. Mrs. Taglitela was a homemaker, and a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Johnstown. Survivors include one daughter Jeanie DiMaio of Sarasota, Florida; six grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; two great- great grandchildren; nieces, nephews. She was predeceased by a son Alfred “Freddie” Tagliatela, a brother Tony Sokol; five sister’s Pauline Karpoy, Rose Pollak, Mary Sokol, Anna Hindes, and Theresa Rakas.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 2:00 p.m. from the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 North Melcher Street, Johnstown. Deacon Richard Solar will officiate. Friends and family may call on Monday prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Margaret’s memory to the Wells Nursing Home, Inc. 201 West Madison Ave., Johnstown, New York 12095.
