| Audrey J. Bentley, age 74, of Johnstown, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on Monday, October 5, 2009 at home after a long illness. She was born on June 22, 1935 in Johnstown to the late Lewis Luft and Anna Latza Luft. Audrey was employed at Johnstown Knit, Simco leather and was last employed at Diana Knit. Mrs. Bentley was a member of the Johnstown Eagles, and the Johnstown Senior Center. She was an avid bowler and loved camping, fishing, playing cards, and going to the Turning Stone Casino, but most of all she loved being with her family.
Survivors include her husband Ernest E. Bentley whom she married December 12, 1953; one son Ernest E. Bentley of Johnstown; three daughters JoAnn Miller and her husband Mark of Johnstown, Donna Goot and her husband John of Johnstown, and Linda Perkins and her husband Anthony of Ft. Plain; two brothers Ted Luft of Fonda and John Luft of Johnstown; two sisters Carol Miller of Fonda and Betty Wink of Florida; eleven grandchildren Greg, Tonya, Becky, Heather, Mark, Joseph, John Lewis, Mary, Matt, Audreyanna, and Eric; three great grandchildren Jack, Chloe, and Colleen; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a sister Mary Newkirk. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. The Dr. Rev. R.W. Williams will preside. Friends and family may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, NY 12078.
