| John C. Hillock, age 93, of Pine Lake, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, after brief illness. He was born on July 5, 1916 in Johnstown to the late Robert Hillock and Margaret Robinson Hillock.
John was employed at Kline’s Garage, Landers Taxi, the Fulton County Highway Department, and was last employed at the Lee Dye Company until his retirement. Mr. Hillock was a member of the North Bush United Methodist Church, he loved his church, gardening and traveling. Survivors include his wife Eva VanDeusen Hillock whom he married on February 1, 1936; one son Paul Hillock (Patricia) of Gloversville; two daughters Margaret Western (Harry) of Johnstown, and Kathleen DiLorenzo of Connecticut; 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two sons Robert hillock and Jack Hillock; one daughter Bonnie Hillock. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. (noon) from the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. Friends and family may call on Saturday prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at the funeral home. Cremation was at Vale Crematory, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the North Bush United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 180, Caroga Lake, New York 12032.
