| Mason City-Robert Allen Buland, 79, Mason City, died Friday, (September 4, 2009), at his home.
A graveside service for Robert will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, September 10, 2009, at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Hwy. 18 West, Mason City, with Reverend Dennis Ganz officiating. As per the family’s request there will be no visitation. Robert Allen Buland was born on January 15, 1930, in Forest City, the son of Lester and Altha (Whiton) Buland. He attended and received his education in the Forest City School system. He was united in marriage to Paula Myhr in Forest City. She preceded him in death on October 29, 2004. In 1950, the family moved to Mason City. Throughout his life, Robert was a semi-tractor trailer driver for various companies in the north Iowa area until his retirement in 1992. Robert enjoyed camping, going to Arizona, and NASCAR races. He was a member of the Order of the Moose Lodge in Mason City. Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Michael (Patty) Buland of Rockvale, CO, Vicki (Richard) Herman of Centerville, Chuck (Deb) Buland of Mason City, and Marci Shaw of Arvada, CO, eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, as well as many other extended family members and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Paula, brother; Wayne Buland; sister, Bonnie Lunstrum, and an infant sisters; Ellen Buland. | ||
